Outstanding Hospice Care

During a recent survey of Hospice patient families and caregivers, St. Joseph Hospice received outstanding results. St. Joseph Hospice received 100% satisfaction results in the following categories: pain and symptom management control, respectful treatment, education for caregivers and emotional support provided for patient and family members.

St. Joseph Hospice cares for terminally ill patients and their families and loved ones with an interdisciplinary team of professionals, including physician(s) and nurses as well as social workers, physical and occupational therapists and trained volunteers.

"Hospice provided a level of care for my Dad that exceeded anything I had anticipated," said one surveyed family member. "Having never had occasion to seek out Hospice I had no idea how thorough and wonderful their service would be. From nursing care to the personal visits, my Dad and I both benefitted greatly from your services. It was truly a comfort to both of us to have you on hand. His last days were made bearable by your presence."

In addition, St. Joseph Hospice received a mark of 9.8 out of 10 or higher in regard to the following questions: how well the team respected patient's wishes, how well they communicated with patient and family, how well symptoms were controlled, if the team allowed the patient to come to terms with his/her death. In total, St. Joseph Hospice received a 9.9 out of 10 overall rating.
