Dear Covenant Friends,
Our name is Covenant
and our name is our promise. We chose the name "Covenant" to represent God's promise to love us unconditionally and our promise to bring that love to the people we serve. "Covenant" also speaks to our willingness to covenant with a broad spectrum of health care organizations, while re-emphasizing our commitment to the poor and those in need.
We dedicate this year's corporate report to the more than 8,000 of our colleagues who live the Covenant promise each day offering compassionate care, dignity and respect to our patients, residents and community. Our employees deserve the same promise, too, for they are the living witnesses to the care we provide in our healing ministry.
In his book In Search of Excellence Tom Peters said: "You must care...that's my conclusion...you can't stand out unless your heart is in it." It is because of our employees that Covenant truly "stands out." We are a strong, vibrant ministry who celebrated our 25th anniversary this year, and we had much to celebrate. We invite you to read our "2008 Corporate Report" and enjoy with us just a few of our successes.
This was also a sad year for us, as the Covenant Board experienced the death of a cherished board member, Sara Gear Boyd. We will always remember her for her smile, grit, compassion, intelligence and dedication to serving.
We offer our gratitude to the compassionate and caring people who serve and partner with us. We consider it a privilege to work together in furthering the healing ministry
Sincerely,
David R. Lincoln
