Camper's Delight
Residents from St. André Health Care go on a camping adventure

The amazing summer weather resulted in another great year of camping for the residents of St. André Health Care. This marks the 4th anniversary of the week-long outing at Camp Waban on the shores of Bauneg Beg Lake in Sanford, Maine.
Residents are given the opportunity for "vacation", and have the option of overnight stays or day trips. Each day dawns with the opportunity for boat rides, fishing, outdoor BBQ's and closes with a relaxing, lakeside campfire and s'mores.
Fund raising activities occur throughout the year to off-set the expenses of the program. Camp Waban is a fully accessible site, serving the needs of our residents, and offers a unique experience beyond the walls of our organization.
One of the few long term care facilities in our area to offer the program, St. André staff members often comment that the experience affords the opportunity to get to know our residents on a different level. The relaxed, outdoor activities seem to naturally encourage open sharing.
